Integration Guide

Squarespace Widget Integration

Embed Google Reviews, WhatsApp chat & Instagram feeds on Squarespace in 5 minutes.

Install Steps

  1. Edit a page and add a 'Code' block.
  2. Paste the GizmoSauce embed snippet.
  3. Save and refresh to see the widget.

Method 1: Adding Widgets to Specific Pages

Use this method for Review Grids, Testimonial Sliders, Social Feeds, and other inline widgets.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Edit your page

    • Log in to your Squarespace dashboard
    • Navigate to Pages in the left sidebar
    • Click the page you want to edit
  2. Add a Code Block

    • Click an insert point (the + or line between sections)
    • Click Add Block
    • Search for Code (look for the </> icon)
    • Click to add it to your page
  3. Configure the Code Block

    • Delete any default 'Hello World' text
    • Make sure Display Source is unchecked (default)
    • Paste your complete GizmoSauce embed code
  4. Save and preview

    • ⚠️ Important: Squarespace disables scripts in Edit mode
    • You'll see 'Script Disabled' in the editor—this is normal
    • Click Save (top left) or navigate away
    • Exit Edit mode and refresh the page to see your widget

Tip: To quickly test, click the page URL in a new incognito window after saving.

Method 2: Site-Wide Widgets (Chat, Popups)

For widgets that should appear on every page of your Squarespace site, use Code Injection.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Access Code Injection

    • Go to Website → Pages in your dashboard
    • Scroll down in the left sidebar to find Website Tools
    • Click Code Injection
  2. Add your widget code

    • Scroll down to the Footer section
    • Paste your GizmoSauce embed code
    • Click Save in the top-left corner
  3. Verify on your live site

    • Open your site in a new browser tab
    • The widget should now appear on all pages

Note: Code Injection is a Premium feature and may not be available on Personal plans. If you don't see this option, use Method 1 on individual pages instead.

Alternative: Footer Code Block

If you don't have access to Code Injection:

  1. Edit your site's Footer section
  2. Add a Code Block to the footer
  3. Paste your widget code
  4. This will appear on all pages that use that footer template
